Just Believe... Just Breathe...

So... It still hasn't hit me yet: I've graduated! Of course... I'll be in the education system for the rest of my life. But I have my degree and teaching credential. I can't believe it.

I finished out the year at Thomas Elementary School. I miss my kids... but am glad that summer is finally here. With lesson plans, end-of-the-year events, paperwork, finals, moving out of the dorms, moving into my summer house, moving out of my classroom, figuring out where I might be teaching next fall... it was all wearing me a little thin. Literally. I was fighting allergies and asthma... and had a cough that has lasted for about a month... I lost ten pounds.

Other than that... I am quite content. Life is good.

I have been extremely blessed this year. Graduated with honors. Finished student teaching. Got to take over my fourth grade class. Was allowed to take over as a long-term sub and got paid for doing what I would have done for free. Great professional experience too. I finally feel like I am ready and prepared to teach full-time next year. I was informally offered a job at Thomas. They want to hire me back as a fourth grade teacher. It's kinda nice to know that my hard work was acknowledged and that I might be returning to Thomas especially after I've bonded with many of the teachers and staff. It would be a comfortable transition into the real world.

As for my personal life: My family is doing very well. I've been able to hang out and keep in touch with many friends. People are getting married and having children. Also... I am in a new relationship and am VERY content. I feel very lucky to be with someone so caring, considerate, intelligent, humorous, creative, patient.... and so much more than he gives himself credit for.

It's nice to be able to look at my life and say I wouldn't have it any other way.

Take care and God Bless to all who take the time to read my new blog. I'll try to keep it interesting ;)
