Just thinking out loud...

I haven't posted anything meaningful in a while. I'm not exactly sure what I mean by "meaningful." Perhaps it means unfiltered or partially processed. A chance for me to dig a little and figure out how I'm feeling about my life. A chance to get something off my chest.

My thoughts linger and question this blog. Why do I choose to update it? Why did I create it in the first place?

I guess my blog is just something like a diary. A journal I've released to the world... an intimate glance into my mind. A place I can visit to rediscover where I've been and how I've felt about being there. I don't know who reads it. I don't know who has stumbled across it, who checks it perodically for updates, or who's dismissed it due to inactivity. My only hope is that it would possibly be of some benefit to someone other than myself. That it wouldn't take up unnecessary space or time from anyone.

So if you come seeking something profound... you might not find it here.

With that said... here's a brief update on the past few months.

I finished my first full year as a third grade teacher and now am moving onto fifth grade. Spent the first week of summer cleaning out my classroom and packing up because I was forced to move into a portable to take a retired teacher's place. Went to Tahoe with my boyfriend and his family after that. Returned to 100+ degree weather with no AC. Got sick. Went home the following week. Went to Hawaii with my mom to visit family. Returned again to 100+ degree weather just in time to spend another week cleaning and sorting through my new classroom. The teacher left a lot of things behind: dusty books, ripped carpet, and rickety bookshelves adorned with cobwebs, rat droppings, unidentifiable stains and a black widow spider. With a lot of help from some friends, my boyfriend's mom, and a special request to the maintenance crew... we got things cleaned and sorted. There is still a lot of work to do, but I'm starting to see a dim light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyway... it's time for bed. There is a helicopter outside that has been zooming around for the past few hours. It might be able to lull me to sleep.
